Cafe 116 is an amazing place to stop if you're traveling on 94 and looking for a bite to eat. I had the Reuben, which other people have recommended on Yelp and it did not disappoint. It's prepped hot on a panini press which adds a great crunch to the sandwich. We got a bread pudding to go and it was perfect, even unheated. The kahlua sauce was decadent but not too rich. Would strongly recommend it as a treat.

Get the County Road 1. So good. Ordered a famous bread pudding to go, it was probably the best dessert I can remember. You'll want to order it, won't let you down. Large enough for sharing. Cool atmosphere for rural MN. Definitely worth a try! My friends also enjoyed the Reuben and the 3 bean salad (which he's still thinking about 3 hrs later).

Big city coffee in a nice town. The latte I got came standard with one shot, but old big city Shem had to ask for a double.... Next time I go with a single. The flavor was still perfect, but that coffee spun me up!

I'm inherently lazy, so it takes a lot for me to leave a review... but it must be known that the Belgian waffle is incredible. Perfect light airy texture with a hint of vanilla. I definitely recommend getting the fresh fruit on top too. To top it off they have a great selection of teas.

Stopped in on our way from Mpls to Bismarck. Was definately worth heading a few miles off the highway. The food was delicious and the atmosphere great. We had the egg scramble with bacon, corn, peppers and onions. It was soo good! The eggs were sourced locally and the side of fruit fresh and beautiful. We will be back!

Great food, great coffee, great service. Best breakfast not just in Fergus, but anywhere in the area. I come here every time I'm in the area.

As a city kid of color from California, I think of this cafe as a sanctuary and respite from the somewhat hand-wringing nervousness I feel being surrounded by the racial homogeneity of Minnesota. Whenever I need to decompress from the racial profiling I've experienced in Fleet Farm or Walmart, I come here and have a comforting cup of coffee or brunch meal. They source from local farmers and bakers (Falls Baking Co, Boyum Farms, or Natural Way Mills, for example) to prepare their meals. I absolutely love their 2 egg breakfast with a sausage patty on the side. It's pretty much all I ever get, though I've liked their sandwiches too. The staff is friendly and warm and the vibe of the cafe is modern but not stuffy. Their in-house roasted Stumbeano coffee is grand, too. Try whatever coffee drink special they have going. They've all been fantastic!

Fergus Falls has needed this kind of place for a long time, so I hope that Cafe 116 sticks around for an even longer time to come! I have a feeling it will: every time I've been there, it has been busy with smiling faces. I have heard nothing but good reviews from everyone I know, and I'm adding to em! I don't drink coffee but I know that Cafe 116 has the good stuff, locally sourced. The sandwiches are tasty (I try something new every time I come), the side salads too. I have noticed that they substitute certain parts of the salads sometimes, and it is a surprise when you get your food. This must happen when they run out of certain ingredients. It's not a big deal at all, but it's really my only complaint. Plus, right now there is a yelp checkin reward for a free coffee or Italian soda. I used it to get an Italian soda. It was small but tasty! Keep it up Cafe 116! I hope that you expand your menu as well, but understand you don't have the biggest kitchen in the world. Also note that next door is The Market, the cutest eclectic shop around! These two businesses are a great pair.

I'm a Fergus Falls native, and since moving to Minneapolis where eateries and cafes abound, I've been ruined for so-so food and coffee. When I'm back in town I always like to make a stop at Cafe 116. How can I not? Unique flavor combinations, high-quality ingredients, homemade ice cream, coffee made the way it should be, and we mustn't forget the beignets. Top-notch quality without the pretentious attitude. Love this place!

At Cafe 116, they always do an excellent job. Great food, great coffee & other drinks, and excellent service. The salads in particular are very well made. Breakfast is delicious. Check this out if you are in Fergus Falls.

The service can make or break a place for me. Amy(I think) was a great server, despite being busy. We did wait a few minutes between getting our food and drink, as would be expected at a busy cafe at noon. The menu options were great for me as they had several vegetarian meals. The bean burrito was filling and tasty with sweet red peppers. The vegetarian panini was grilled perfectly, but a tad dry so I asked for dressing to dip it in. Get the chocolate bread pudding- it is served warm with melted chocolate chips and a Khalua sauce. Even my husband who hates bread pudding loved it, and there is enough for 2 to share. Great hometown atmosphere.

I really enjoyed eating here this morning. Cozy setting and really great service. Even though I am not a coffee drinker, I have been told over and over again how amazing their coffee is. They get the majority of their food from local vendors which I love. I highly recommend the harvest eggs!! The wheat toast even was delicious. The only downside is that the menu is limited. I will definitely be back over and over again.

We were sat immediately and even though it was busy we received great service. I got the breakfast burrito and it was phenomenal. Definitely a must for any passer by on I-94.

Fresh, wholesome food. Kid friendly. Environmentally friendly. Excellent service. Delicious organic food with perfect sized portions. Also convenient hours. We had lunch at 10:30 am. Go blue!!!

I am never disappointed. Breakfast, salads, soups , sandwiches cleverly named after streets in Fergus Falls, great Stumbeanos coffee. Fresh. Local. Great wait staff. The Tuesday gumbo is addicting! Make this a regular stop.

This is a very stylish cafe in the quaint downtown of Furgus falls. It seems to be affilliated with both a coffee roaster and a bakery. The food was gourmet, fresh, and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a stop if you are passing by on 94 or vacationing in the area The soup is really extra hot just like I asked. The foods taste very fresh

I live in Houston and was visiting Fergus falls when my sister told me about this cool lil place. Their mocha was excellent along with the best belgian Waffle I've ever had. I would recommend that you try this place.

My Favorite Cafe in town. I go here weekly. They have an area for computer people although you can sit anywhere you want. I do a lot of computer work there, have some organic tea and a little breakfast at times. There food is Awesome and the healthiest in town for a restaurant. The Staff people are Awesome as I know them all. Very friendly, helpful and just a great place to have some quietness or visit with a friend. I just wish they had better tables and more comfortable chairs. They used to have a couple high tops that I really liked and they got rid of them. Other than the table issue it's a great place. In the summer time, they put a few tables, chairs outside if you want to sit out there.

  • Gail H.

I love Cafe 116 every thing is fresh and delicious. Their dedication to using fresh locally grown ingredients is much appreciated. The menu is original you will not find these dishes anywhere else. The waffles melt in your mout and the douple chocolate bread pudding has amazing texture and flavor. The cafe miele is my favorite, a friend of mine from Chicago said the mocha was the best she'd had in her whole life. Great atmosphere, clean, reasonable prices.

Love! Love! Love! Recently had to make multiple trips to Fergus Falls for business... This was my breakfast and lunch go to everyday. Great coffee, lovely wait staff, and fresh wholesome food that's often hard to find on the road.

There is a lot to love about Cafe 116. First of all, they have outstanding coffee, and friendly servers. Second of all, they have, by far, the best Reuben I've had in the Midwest. Coming from LA (and being Jewish) Reubens are a big staple of my diet, and I've had my fair share of them. But nothing really compares to Cafe 116's Reuben. Their fresh house-made Russian dressing is, quite simply, the best Russian dressing I've had in the four years I lived in MN. The Reuben is crisp, delicious, and relatively light (you won't be drowning in an oily mess with this one!). It simply tastes phenomenal.

Wonderful little place in Fergus Fall! Had the Italian pasta soup.... flavors were to die for! Hampden hot sandwich, delicious ham and pineapple, finished with creme brulee and a pumpkin spice latte made with real pumpkin. Everything is made from scratch, bread is fresh baked next door. Excellent! Don't forget to try the potato salad!!!!

    (5)
  • Stephanie S.

The food here is great as described in previous reviews. Every sandwich I have tasted is good and fresh. The salads are good, but sometimes bland. I would also recommend the fresh beignets, which are very tasty. If you are looking for a sandwich, this is a great place to go! This is also one of the few places in Fergus to get a cup of espresso, but if you want to make any changes to the owner's "formulation," forget it. So in short, if you order food, you are good to go, but if you want ANY coffee not on the menu (i.e. an extra shot, more milk, etc) you may feel like you are visiting the soup nazi in Seinfeld or watching Jack Nicholson ordering an omelet on Five Easy Pieces.

Most excellent food. My turkey sandwich was awesome, on delicious bread, everything was fresh. My husband's reuben was yummy, not all dried out or greasy as sometimes happens. The chocolate bread pudding was to die for. (this review was written by Miguel's wife, Loris) :-)

    (5)
  • Krista U.

Excellent food; everything is fresh and sourced locally. Amazing coffee-- I live in Boston now and I still order bags of coffee from Stumbeano's! But honestly, you should just order the double chocolate bread pudding. And probably a big glass of milk to wash it down.

    (5)
  • Eva and Zach A.

This is a little hidden treasure for those out of towers looking for a surprisingly great lunch. They have vegetarian soups, salads, and sandwiches easily accessible on the menu. They have interesting little twists on some otherwise standard sandwiches. The staff is very friendly the atmosphere is what you would expect from a cafe. The boost from four to five star however is the food for this area. This isn't new york or Chicago this is Fergus but you will be more than glad you stopped here for your coffee, tea, and lunch if you happen by this place.

I always enjoy looking for little local spots. I liked the simple old fashioned atmosphere and friendly service, however The food was good but not spectacular. I had the country road 1 and it was very tasty. It was supposed to have avocado and I tried to find it, there were a few small bits which I couldn't even taste. I was anticipating a slice of avocado. The special craisin cream cheese spread was very yummy! I wanted to try the homemade ice cream but they were out. My husband had the sour cream coffee cake and said it was a bit dry. I notice they warmed it in the microwave. I don't care fore rewarmed things. All in all I would eat here again.

I visited Fergus Falls recently and was thrilled to find Cafe 116. The atmosphere was immediately friendly, service was attentive and speedy, and the food fresh and tasty. A great find in this town and a stark contrast to the other diners and chain restaurants. I'll be back!

You won't find a menu like this anywhere else in this area. Their bread is to die for - fresh from the Falls Baking Company. Try the chocolate bread pudding - seriously, do not pass this up! I also had a sandwich, which was good, but I don't think I'd order the egg salad again. There were many other interesting sandwiches to choose from though. The coffee menu is extensive, but their regular cup of coffee was strong and perfect, with free refills.
